This Privacy Policy applies to the Japan Trash Can Map website (japantrashmap.com) and its related web pages (collectively, "this Site"). The handling of personal data in the iOS app is governed by the separate privacy policy displayed within the app and on the App Store listing.

To display "nearby trash cans," this Site may request access to your device's location via the browser Geolocation API — only if you grant permission. Your location is processed locally within your browser solely for the purpose of centering the map; it is never transmitted to or stored on our servers. You can revoke permission at any time through your browser's site settings.

3. Information We Collect

We may collect standard access log data (IP address, browser type, referring URL, date and time of access, etc.) for anonymous statistical and analytical purposes. This Site does not collect account information, diagnostic results, or payment information, as no such features exist on this Site.

Trash can location data displayed on this Site includes data from © OpenStreetMap contributors, made available under the Open Database Licence (ODbL).

We use the following third-party services to operate this Site. Services marked "(planned)" are not currently in use but may be introduced in the future:
